I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Fiona & Jamie’s AMAZING wedding yesterday from beginning to end!
Again, so much to write and don’t know where to start! So, at the beginning is best right? A warning though, I’ll probably go off on a tangent now and again through this.. lets go! let’s see what the pen writes!
Kicking off with the boys at One Burgess Hill, then over to Fiona’s family home to catch up with the girls and into the ceremony… It’s got to be said firstly that I LOVE this house and surrounds, I’ve photographed it before with the architecture in mind, so I know it quite well, and just love it.. so to photograph Fiona’s wedding there was really quite special.. and I know definitely millions more times more special for her and Jamie and their family and friends. It must be said, that these two are very special people, with very special families, and of course all the people around them…
So many parts of their wedding blew me away, Fiona’s parents and family- so lovely! Her mum of course get’s a special mention, thank you so much! And Andrew, such a nice person and you did an amazing job. The stories the dad’s told, the Bridesmaid’s speech- sooo killer! All the speeches.. how can I name one without the others… whoops, backtrack.. the Celebrant, a family friend, and was awesome; her Husband, who was the owner/driver of their totally awesome old wedding car; the tears!! the LOVE!!! The boats at Pukekura Park, not just the boats, it wasn’t about the boats, it was the wedding party, they made that image, and they owned it. So great to watch and see them all have a blast together! Oh wait! backtrack again! Before that we shot off the Te Rewa Rwea bridge, just Jamie & Fiona, and us photographers.. I think it was kinda special, I wanted to leave them to themselves as much as possible, of course if I needed them to do something then I’d ask, but it was great just catching these two have a special 15 minutes together.. fast forward- the reception- STUNNING! I’m a HUGE fan of Bowl Of Brooklands as a reception venue, I just think it’s such an amazing place with so many memories for so many local people, and something totally different for visitors. It has a feel about it I think, it lends itself wholeheartedly to love, laughter, good times, dancing, happiness.. honestly, you can feel. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me getting soppy, but I don’t think so, I think everyone there felt the love and happiness that night… So the reception… speeches, awesome food, lot’s of laughter, great music, first dance.. well these two SMASHED IT! you’ll see that in the couple of photos below… Totally impressed guys!!
So, that was just a snippet of their day and night, a very special one for sure, which is what you’d of course expect when it’s two very special people joining together for their life’s journey.. obviously words don’t describe like photos, so hopefully these will say more =)
